INNOVATION MANAGER - MANCHESTER -2 DAYS A WEEK IN THE OFFICE
Role Overview
This role is responsible for driving product innovation and managing the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept through to launch and eventual phase-out. It involves identifying market opportunities, developing commercially viable products, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver a strong product pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Own
* Contribute to the 3–5 year product pipeline by identifying gaps and developing new product proposals
* Translate consumer, market, and competitor insights into product concepts
* Lead end-to-end product development (concept to launch and exit), including briefs, costings, sampling, packaging, and approvals
* Conduct competitor and pricing analysis to inform strategy and improve market position
* Plan and execute concept testing within budget
Support
* Assist in managing the overall product portfolio and pipeline delivery
* Identify and escalate project risks and issues where needed
* Support pricing strategy, product development troubleshooting, and pack/brand development
Shape
* Contribute to continuous improvement of innovation and product development processes
Provide
* Deliver regular updates on product development progress, timelines, and costs
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Experience in product development or product management (or equivalent)
* Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
* Confident communicator with experience working cross-functionally and with external partners
* Creative and insight-driven approach to innovation
* Proficient in standard business tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Desirable
* Experience managing budgets
* Background in fast-paced consumer goods or similar industries
