Job Description Would you like to help us support adults who would like to choose who provides their social care and support needs? If you think that is you, then you might be suited to a role as a direct payments assistant. An opportunity has arisen for a Direct Payments Assistant to join us in Adult Social Care Finance where we support people who have chosen to arrange their own care and support via direct payment. The direct payments team work with community teams across East Sussex County Council. We cover a customer telephone line, answering questions for both internal teams and members of the public. As a Direct Payments Assistant, you will provide office support to ensure that direct payments are correctly processed and monitored. Our team provides advice and guidance, acting as the main point of contact for direct payments, covering the adult social care systems, direct payment helpline and email inbox. We are looking for someone who… Has the ability to record information proficiently whilst talking with people over the telephone Has the ability to manage their own workload and prioritise work in line with the needs of the team and service Has the ability to manage constant and conflicting demands, often to meet tight deadlines Can deal with customers with a wide variety of need and vulnerabilities Has the ability to work constructively with colleagues – both internal, external and as part of a team If you would like to apply for this role please click on the ‘Apply Now’ button and upload your CV and Supporting Statement.
