Description About the Role We are looking for a skilled and motivated Machinist/Production Operative to join our production team. This role is ideal for someone with solid industrial sewing experience who takes pride in producing high-quality garments, working to specifications and supporting a positive, team-focused working environment. You will be responsible for producing a range of sewing products to agreed quality standards and timescales, operating a variety of sewing machines and supporting trainee development where required. This role is part of Fedcap UK’s Social Enterprise practice area and you will be working for Elite. Key Duties and Responsibilities Organise and maintain an efficient and safe workstation. Interpret and follow instructions, patterns and technical specifications accurately. Produce a range of sewing products that meet required quality standards, targets, and deadlines. Operate flatbed and overlocking sewing machines and other specialist machinery where applicable. Apply a variety of sewing techniques, working with different fabrics, threads, and trimmings. Carry out hand finishing of garments as required. Monitor workflow to ensure production targets are met efficiently. Manage your own workload effectively, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines. Person Specification Essential Criteria Experience operating flatbed sewing machines. Experience operating overlocker sewing machines. Ability to produce garments to specification with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work to deadlines and production targets. Willingness to undertake training and professional development. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety requirements. Understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities policy and practice. Experience in hand-finishing garments. Desirable Criteria Experience working in an industrial or commercial production environment. Experience supporting vocational training and maintaining records.
