We are looking to recruit 2 individuals to join our ophthalmology team to provide the visual field service. Both posts will be based at Ninewells Hospital. You will also deliver the visual field service within either Perth Royal Infirmary or Arbroath Infirmary one or two days a week.
Clinical duties will include the assessment of visual acuity and visual fields on a Humphrey visual field analyser for patients attending the hospital eye service clinics. We will provide in house training for these skills if required. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a caring manner to work with all age groups and abilities of patients. You also require to have good organisational skills and the ability to work independently, whilst being supportive of colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary ophthalmology team.
You will be committed to providing a high standard of support to the team and have a genuine interest in self-development and continuous learning. You should have a willingness to undertake new skills and expand this role as we look to change how ophthalmology services are delivered moving forward.
You will have current/recent experience working in a healthcare, ophthalmology or community optometry setting and evidence of working effectively as part of a team
You will possess either an SVQ 3 in Health Care or have demonstrable evidence of being able to work at this level.
Hours of Work: 22.5 hours per week
