Location: Wakefield | Permanent | 37 hours per week | £14.35 p/h (£27,600 p/a) depending on experience
The Opportunity
Due to the retirement of a long-serving colleague, AES is looking for a dedicated Stores Person to join our small, successful team in Wakefield. This is a great opportunity for someone with some stores or inventory experience looking for their next step in a growing international business.

The Role
Based in the Aftermarket Stores Department, you will be the only dedicated Stores Person, responsible for the smooth running of the department, including location bay and inventory management. This role is ideal for someone with some prior stores or inventory experience looking for their next step in a growing business.
Your responsibilities will include:
Stores Duties
* Managing the day-to-day running of the Stores Department.
* Receiving and checking incoming deliveries (FLT training provided if required).
* Carrying out goods-in checks and reporting damages or discrepancies.
* Picking and packing customer orders accurately and on time.
* Replenishing stock, monitoring inventory levels, and reporting shortages.
* Maintaining bay and inventory locations to ensure stock is easy to find and organised.
* Labelling, boxing, and preparing goods with the correct paperwork.
* Booking courier collections and arranging deliveries.
* Performing annual stock checks and maintaining accurate records.
* Serving customers on the Trade Counter using product knowledge.
* Handling aftermarket product warranty returns.
* Producing and preparing number plates for customers. (training given)
* General housekeeping to ensure a safe and clear workplace.
Delivery Duties (as required)
* Safely loading and unloading the company vehicle.
* Planning efficient delivery routes.
* Completing delivery paperwork and vehicle checks.
* Providing excellent customer service while representing AES on-site.
The Person
We're looking for someone who is:
· Organised, reliable, and detail-focused
· Has some knowledge of stores or inventory management (desirable)
· Looking for their next step in a career within a growing business
· Holds a full UK driving licence (DVLA checks apply)
· Physically fit for manual handling tasks
· Confident, a good communicator, and customer-focused
Salary & Hours
* £14.35 p/h (£27,600 p/a DOE)
* 37 hours per week: Mon–Thurs 8:30–17:00, Fri 8:30–16:30 (1-hr unpaid lunch)
* Free on-site parking and corporate workwear provided
* Role subject to a successful probation period
