Job Summary
A site based position, where the successful applicant will be required to facilitate and oversee the work of the Trade Contractors for compliance with quality and programme requirements.

Salary: £65,000 - £80,000
Main Responsibilities
* Monitoring, facilitating and inspecting the installation of passenger, goods, evacuation and firefighting lifts, ensuring that the Trade Contractors are carrying out their work in accordance with the contract, including associated specifications, approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments and other approved documents relating to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality issues.
* Assisting the Project Manager in the development of the design documents by attending meetings and coordinating the design team where required to meet target dates related to the Project.
* Assisting the Project Manager in the procurement of relevant packages of Works, including the formulation of Contract documents and the overall co‑ordination of the procurement process.
* Discharging responsibilities for Health and Safety as set out in the Canary Wharf Group Health Safety and Welfare manual and the Canary Wharf Group Construction Health and Safety Plan both in respect of the package and integration of the overall project.
* Facilitating the work of the Trade Contractors by ensuring the site logistics arrangements are set up and operating effectively. In consultation with the Logistics Manager and the Project Executive, ensuring that temporary utilities, hoisting and crane resources are effectively managed for the safe and efficient operations of the Project.
* Ensuring that site works are adequately supervised by the Trade Contractor.
* Leading the coordination of works between Trade Contractors.
* Recording the progress of work and assessing for valuations.
* Assisting the Survey Manager in the implementation of project survey control and ensuring correct monitoring and submission of as‑built records by Trade Contractors.
* Carrying out and recording routine inspections with the Trade Contractor and verifying that work is in accordance with the approved standards and requirements of the contract.
* Conducting onsite meetings, maintaining a written record of these meetings and, together with the team of Construction Managers, maintaining a detailed written record of the Trade Contractors’ daily progress.
* Carrying out snagging inspections with the relevant managers, maintaining up‑to‑date lists of defects and incomplete works and performing rigorous follow‑up to ensure prompt rectification by the Contractor.
* Undertaking the closing out of the works by issuing completion certificates and assisting in the final accounting of the works.
* Ensuring good environmental practice on site, consistent with the Considerate Contractors Scheme.
* Carrying out any other reasonable duty as requested by the Project Executive.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Site‑based experience with lift/escalator installation is essential. Experience working for a contracting organisation is desirable; post holders must demonstrate practical experience and provide evidence of working on large projects.
* Post holder must be fully familiar with the coordination of interfaces between trade packages and assist with processing of technical queries and requests for information raised by contractors.
* A relevant trades qualification to support proven practical experience is desirable.
* Post holder must be commercially aware, able to motivate Trade Contractors and communicate with Design Consultants, Statutory Authorities and Technical Support Staff.
* Post holder must be able to accurately record site progress on a daily basis.
* Post holder must be able to self‑manage, use initiative and think analytically, and interact positively with other members of the project team.
* Preferable that the post holder is computer literate and has past experience of using document management software.
* Experience of Asite software is beneficial but not essential.
* Commitment to continuing professional development within construction, especially relating to Health & Safety and modern methods of construction, is highly desirable.
* Post holder must be competent in assessing and commenting on the adequacy of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
* CSCS accredited or working towards CSCS accreditation.
