As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to take full ownership of the service from pre-registration through to day-to-day leadership and development. Youll be working closely with the provider to build a team, develop the culture, and shape a home that consistently delivers outstanding care. The Role As Registered Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our new homes success. You will lead the Ofsted registration process, oversee the operational setup, and take responsibility for ensuring the home runs to the highest standards of care and compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead and complete the Ofsted registration process, including submission of Statement of Purpose, policies and risk assessments Set up and oversee the physical furnishing and preparation of the home to ensure a safe, therapeutic, and child-focused environment. Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing staff team, instilling a strong safeguarding and person-centred culture Deliver leadership and line management including supervisions, appraisals, team meetings, and performance development Create and oversee robust care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments tailored to each young person Ensure full compliance with Childrens Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and all relevant statutory guidance Build and maintain effective relationships with children, families, local authorities, and external agencies Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and systems including incident reporting, audits, Reg 44, and Reg 45 requirements Manage rotas, budgets, training schedules, health and safety, and general administration to ensure smooth day-to-day operation Promote and model a culture of kindness, accountability, and continuous improvement across the home About You Essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) At least 2 years experience in a management or senior leadership role in a childrens residential setting Demonstrable knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, Childrens Homes Regulations, and safeguarding legislation Proven ability to lead a staff team, manage complex cases, and drive a service toward high quality and compliance Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills Full understanding of safeguarding principles and safer recruitment practices Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one) Desirable: Experience registering a new home with Ofsted History of achieving or sustaining Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings Experience developing policies, audit frameworks, and quality assurance systems Skilled in mentoring or supporting junior managers Knowledge of therapeutic care approaches What We Offer Competitive salary of £50,000 £70,000, pro rata depending on experience and qualifications Discretionary bonus upon successful registration and ongoing service quality 33 Days Annual leave Company vehicle (as necessary) Funded CPD and training opportunities including management development A chance to build something meaningful and make a lasting impact We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
