For Consultant Plastic Surgeon Mr Anthony MacQuillan

Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 per year + Monthly Bonus Potential

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Some flexibility for occasional after-hours/weekend admin)

Location: Bristol Business Park (Currently), however on the opening of our new hospital – Northwood this will be your main location (Behind Bristol Parkway Station).

About the Role

Due to continued growth, Consultant Plastic Surgeon Mr Anthony MacQuillan is expanding his support team. We’re looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Medical Secretary / Administrative Assistant to manage day-to-day office functions, assist the Patient Coordinator, and ensure smooth patient communications and administrative operations.

We are looking to then grow this role combining traditional secretarial duties with elements of patient care coordination and PC support in a surgical and cosmetic setting.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Secretary / Admin Support

* Manage surgeon’s diary and clinical schedules
* Liaise with hospitals for surgery lists and theatre bookings
* Draft, proof and send medical letters, reports, and invoices
* Maintain confidential patient records (digital and hard copy)
* Assist with GDPR compliance and record-keeping audits
* Provide transcription services for consultation notes
* Ensure efficient office workflow and support front-desk duties
* Pre assessment liaising with nursing staff and patient milestones before their operation
* Working with the Saudi Embassy to schedule appointments for Dr MacQuillan along with invoicing

Patient and PC Support

* Assist with patient onboarding, medical history collection, and consent processes
* Support Patient Coordinator during busy clinic sessions
* Organise review appointments, photo documentation, and post-op calls
* Track follow-ups and maintain CRM/PM software updates
* Chaperoning for consultations with Dr MacQuillan

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience in medical secretarial or clinical admin role (minimum 1 year)
* Excellent command of MS Office, typing/transcription, and digital admin systems
* Familiarity with medical terminology (especially cosmetic/plastic surgery) a strong advantage
* Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
* Warm, approachable communication style with professionalism at all times
* Discretion, empathy, and patient-centric mindset
* Able to work independently and within a close-knit team
* Confidence in supporting both clinical operations and customer service

About Anthony MacQuillan

Consultant Plastic Surgeon Mr Anthony MacQuillan performs cosmetic surgery of the Face, Breast and Body at the Sulis Hospital Bath, Wellington Hospital London and The Welbeck Hospital London (and opening September 2025: Northwood, Bristol). He has been newly appointed as Vice President of BAAPS Sept 2024 and is very well renowned and respected amongst his peers.

Anthony is also an expert Nerve Surgeon and has many patients from overseas for his unique skills and experience with Brachial Plexus surgery. For more information visit
