Project: International Observatory on End of Life Care
Position: Part-time 0.40 FTE – 14.5 hours per week
This position, within the Division of Health Research, is part of a consortium funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Programme for Pal-Cycles: Palliative care yields cancer wellbeing support. This exciting five-year study aims to adapt an intervention to improve communication and continuity of care for cancer patients with palliative needs.
The study involves developing the intervention based on previous research, literature review, and clinician input in the UK. The intervention will be evaluated through trials in hospitals across eight countries (UK, Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Portugal, Spain). Outcomes will be disseminated via a MOOC. Professors Nancy Preston and Sheila Payne lead the project. The post holder will assist with all aspects, primarily in:
* Running trials, especially participant recruitment and data collection.
* Interviewing clinicians, patients, and families about their experiences.
