Position: Production Planner

Salary: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour DOE
Duration: Temporary to Permanent Position

Purpose of the role:
The Production Planner will manage daily, weekly, and quarterly production schedules to achieve customer deliveries, variable costs, and productivity in line.
Accountabilities for this role:
You will have a proven track record in Production planning within the manufacturing / engineering sectors. Previous experience within a similar role is essential.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maintain and manage the scheduling system daily to support managers.
* Review customer orders and accounts to support accurate ordering.
* Liaises with Sales to determine customer requirements.
* Participate in development of operating plans and monthly forecasting.
* Communicate and explain business performance.
* Ability to extract, organise, analyse, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions.
* Optimise and balance production lines for best efficiency.
* Receiving and communicating in a timely fashion order to production, assessing their ability to fulfil the orders.
* Generating and producing a production plan
* Communicating with customers in relation to orders and thereafter to check with production that these orders are being fulfilled.
* Prepares reports about production processes for upper management and suggests ways to improve efficiency.
* Monitor supplier performance (inbound supply chain) to ensure service levels can meet production demand.
* Any other reasonable duties which may be required from management from time to time.
Experience required:
* Good Knowledge of SAP systems / Microsoft Packages
* Good communication skills
* A logical thinker with strong numerical, analytical and evaluation skills
* Highly organised and structured approach to work
* Ability to prioritise and manage time critical tasks, from initiation to completion.
