Senior Category Manager
An exciting opportunity has become available for an exceptional procurement professional to join our growing Procurement Team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust on a permanent basis as a Senior Category Manager based in the vibrant university city of Lincoln.
The post holder will support the Head of Category and colleagues within the Procurement Team as well as key stakeholders within the Surgery and Medicine Care Groups. The post holder is expected to seek the best commercial outcome in the procurement of goods and services and contribute to the development and delivery of divisional Category Strategies, ensuring procurement programmes are delivered compliantly within the bounds of EU, National and Trust regulations and policy.
Responsibilities
Support the Head of Category and colleagues within the Procurement Team and key stakeholders in Surgery and Medicine Care Groups. Seek the best commercial outcomes in the procurement of goods and services. Contribute to the development and delivery of divisional Category Strategies. Ensure procurement programmes are delivered compliantly. Manage and process data, summarise findings, and make recommendations. Lead and manage people to support delivery of the Clinical procurement work plan.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Educated to Degree Level or equivalent managerial experience and knowledge
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) / working towards MCIPS
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Experience working at a Masters level within a business environment
Desirable Qualifications
* Recognised business development qualification (e.g. programme or project management)
Essential Previous Experience
* Significant working knowledge of Procurement and complex procurement processes
* Demonstrable purchasing and supply management at a senior level
* Budget and general management
* Developing and implementing complex strategies and policies
* Expert knowledge in EU Procurement legislation procedures, procurement and contract management
* Staff management and supervision
* Experience in engaging with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Desirable Previous Experience
* Demonstrable purchasing and supply management at a senior level in the NHS
* Change management in a medium to large organisation
* Project management skills
* Experience of working in a complex, busy and demanding environment or workplace
* Knowledge and experience of business planning environment
* Knowledge and experience in the use of E-Tendering systems (e.g. Atamis)
