I'm recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a really solid and growing volume-housebuilder working across the North West. They’re busy with a lot of traditional-build sites focused on affordable homes, so if you're looking for a company with a strong pipeline and good job security, this is worth a look. They need someone who can confidently manage a few live jobs at once – overseeing the full commercial side from land acquisition right through to final accounts. You’ll be part of a commercial team, but given the freedom to manage your sites properly without micro-management. Day-to-day, you’ll be: Managing costs across multiple new build housing developments Preparing tender packages and negotiating with subcontractors Managing subcontractor payments, variations, and final accounts Keeping on top of budgets, CVRs and forecasts Working closely with technical, construction and sales teams to keep projects moving smoothly Identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering when needed Helping out with land viability assessments and providing commercial input early doors Ideally they’re looking for; You’ll need a solid background as a QS, ideally within housing or groundworks (meaning you’ll have good awareness of the likes of Building regs, NHBC reqs & wider HSE issues and standards which impact on commercial matters. You’ll be comfortable working through the full project lifecycle whilst being proficient with COINS & MS Excel & wider packages. They’re open on whether you’re already running your own jobs or stepping up into that responsibility. Package includes: Competitive salary (they’re happy to tailor somewhat depending on experience) up to £60,000 basic salary plus; Company car or car allowance Annual bonus scheme 26 days holiday plus bank holidays Private healthcare Matched pension scheme Support with professional development and progression
