Lockheed Martin UK – Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In‑Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support and is part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, responsible for the management of operations at RNAD Coulport. It also supports the joint US and UK submarine design efforts.
About the Role
Lockheed Martin Strategic Systems is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our team at our Helensburgh office. This role offers flexible working options, including a four‑day week or a nine‑day fortnight, with a hybrid schedule typically 2‑3 days onsite per week. The Procurement Manager will manage a team of three Procurement Officers and oversee a wide portfolio of goods and services to meet programme and business requirements across multiple categories. Success requires experience in functional organisations and a blend of proven skills including team management, procurement and supply chain, relationship building, and delivery of on‑time, on‑budget procurements.
Responsibilities may extend across the product life cycle and include:
* The management of a team of Procurement Officers in a busy operational office.
* Own and manage strategic, critical, and tactical supplier relationships to achieve best value and identify and manage supply chain risks.
* Deliver and lead end‑to‑end sourcing and procurement activities for a range of products and services, including tenders, RFQs, offer evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
* Monitor and manage supplier performance to meet schedule, quality, cost and technical requirements, implementing corrective actions and improvement plans as required.
* Act as an interface between suppliers and internal customers, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
* Exercise delegated procurement authority, managing supplier agreements and purchase orders in line with governance requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, managing expectations and influencing outcomes at multiple organisational levels.
* Support bids, proposals and review activities by providing supply‑chain input as required.
* Drive continuous improvement within procurement and the wider supply chain.
The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (SC) of security clearance.
