Bartender
Wage : £12.50 per hour depending of experience and responsibilities
Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and customer-oriented Bartender to join our team. The Bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for guests, and ensuring smooth bar operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and Serve Drinks: Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to established recipes. Ensure that drinks are made with consistent quality, flavour, and presentation.
* Customer Service: Greet customers, take drink orders, and provide recommendations based on preferences. Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
* Maintain Bar Area: Keep the bar area clean, stocked, and organized. Regularly clean bar equipment, counters, and glassware to ensure proper hygiene and safety.
* Cash Handling and Transactions: Accurately handle payments, including cash and credit transactions. Provide correct change and issue receipts as necessary.
* Stock and Inventory: Monitor and manage the bar's inventory of alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and supplies. Replenish stock levels and notify management when supplies are low.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure all customers are of legal drinking age and follow all state and local alcohol regulations. Observe customer behaviour and intervene when necessary to prevent over-serving. Maintain awareness of health and safety guidelines related to food and alcohol handling.
* Team Collaboration: Work with other bar staff, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Assist in training new bartenders and staff as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a bartender or in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of drink recipes and cocktail preparation techniques.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to handle cash and perform basic math for transactions.
* Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and may require certifications depending on location (e.g., TIPs certification, responsible beverage service training)
