As part of the onsite UK Production Engineering support shift team, you will be looking after day-to-day systems and projects - from maintaining graphic systems & incoming data workflows to reactive video & audio related technical issues. Working across Sky N ews, Sports News, and the high-profile Sporting channels, you will be able to offer support and knowledge for smooth productions.
Provide reactive first line support to Sky's TV Production, Graphics and Post Production Facilities, which include all programming and events such as Sky News, Sky Sports News, F1, Football, Cricket, EFL, Golf, Tennis, Racing, Netball, Rugby and many other key productions
~ Work a regular shift pattern formed of Associate /Junior Engineers, Engineers & Senior Engineers
~ Provide reactive, logical, and methodical fault finding to a broad variety of faults found across a large Television Production & Post Production facility
~ Proactive maintenance & monitoring of hardware, software and mechanical systems in a broadcast environment
A degree or qualification in Broadcast Engineering/Media Technologies/or equivalent
~ A strong understanding of the technical elements of a broadcast tv chain - encompassing both older traditional and more modern IP, Software solutions
~ Solid/ exten sive experience working in a support role within Broadcast Engineering
~ demonstration of excellent people skills, communication skills, and coaching
~ Good knowledge of Broadcast IP standards and implementation including SMPT E 2022, SMPTE 2110, AoIP (AES67) and PTP
Experience of Microsoft Windows systems, win10/11, server 2012-2022
Competent with IT and computer networking for fault finding
You will be required to work a shift pattern that covers a 7-day fortnight covering 24/7/365. This would normally be comprised of Week 1 - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun / Week 2 - Wed, Thu 12-hour days with one- hour break and on an early/late rotation. This would lead onto night shift cover later down the line covering the wider team responsibilities.
