You will help ensure public funds are used effectively and that our procurement activity delivers tangible benefit for the local area. Our procurement function focuses on four key outcomes: Delivering savings for the council Providing procurement advice to colleagues Supporting the local economy Ensuring procurement practices are adhered to Whether your experience lies in purchasing goods, services, construction works, or contract management, you will have the opportunity to influence outcomes, drive innovation, and ensure compliance with procurement regulations. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details): Support the delivery of a complex and varied procurement pipeline. Support and provide specialist advice to colleagues across the Council with the contract management module Intend. Ensure our activity achieves real impact by embedding robust governance, compliance and risk management, while also looking for opportunities to innovate and add value. Develop and regularly review a procurement strategy and associated policies and procedure Ensure good procurement practices and understanding across the Council, so that the benefits of good procurement are fully recognised by all officers involved in contracting and purchasing services and supplies. What You’ll Need (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details): Experience of Public Sector Procurement (PCR 2015 and Procurement Act 2023). Experience of managing above and below threshold procurement processes and procedures. Experience of e-tendering and e-procurement systems. Ability to provide professional procurement advice to officers across the Council. Ability to work effectively in a team and possess strong negotiation skills.
