Are you a dynamic, enthusiastic individual who can work well within a team and individually? Do you have a desire for learning, personal development, and supporting the continued development of our Emergency Care services? Do you thrive on delivering excellent patient care and experience, and could help drive the future aspirations of the department as a member of our team? If so, we want to hear from you…
As an organisation and emergency department, we are pleased to advertise a number of clinical and non-clinical roles as part of our ongoing new build and development of the urgent and emergency care services. We have had a £30 million investment in a new purpose-built Emergency Department, which includes a 6-bed resus area, Rapid Assessment Triage, ambulance handover area, 35 clinical rooms including a paediatric area, 2 triage rooms, and a dedicated area with 6 clinical rooms for the Urgent Care Service. The new build provides the right environment to see and treat patients with emergency or urgent complaints, ensuring they are seen in the right place, by the right person, while maintaining national emergency care standards.
While the new build offers state-of-the-art patient facilities, it also includes significant investment in staff facilities, such as a large staff rest area and changing facilities. The department offers an extensive career development pathway, with significant investment in ongoing training and education for the ED/UCS team, linked to each role, including RCN Level 1&2 competencies, NMTNG Level 1&2, TILS, TNCC, EPALS, ALS, IRMER, and access to educational courses for autonomous practitioners, along with comprehensive development and competency pathways.
Due to the increased footprint of the new Emergency Department, a comprehensive staffing review has been undertaken, enabling us to work to recommended RCN safe staffing levels, supporting quality and safe nursing care for all patients.
The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest NHS acute and community partnerships, serving over one million patients annually and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion. It comprises two Trusts: Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH). Our partnership is ambitious and committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for 1.65 million people.
We employ nearly 20,000 staff across five main hospital sites: Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, Goole and District Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary, and Castle Hill Hospital. As teaching hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we lead and contribute to research in areas such as biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery, and oncology.
We believe that developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled, and caring workforce is key to delivering excellent patient care and ensuring a bright future for our employees, partnership, and community.
