Job Summary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Pennine Care NHS FT, Rochdale CAMHS, part‑time (6 sessions) with potential to extend to full‑time. Position is replacement of partially retiring consultant. Provide high‑quality clinical input to multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Provide Child Psychiatric Service for young people up to 18 in Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton – assessment, management and direct clinical work.
Adhere to policies, maintain professional records and confidentiality.
Maintain approx. 40–50 open follow‑up caseload; see ~24 new cases per annum.
Provide assessment and management of children and adolescents with complex mental health needs, including neuro‑developmental disorders.
Co‑operate with multidisciplinary team, lead in referrals, care planning, CPA reviews, liaison with CAMHS, local authorities, Working Age Adult Mental Health Services and Community Paediatrics.
Utilise Care Programme Approach, New Mental Health Act, Children Act, Mental Capacity Act as required.
Take part in team and peer supervision, contribute to supervision meetings, provide case‑by‑case supervision/consultation.
Provide cover for consultant leave and attend peer supervision meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements
Full GMC Registration.
Possession of CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, or within 6 months of achieving or entered on the GMC Specialist Register.
Section 12 Approval under Mental Health Act 183 (or eligibility).
Demonstrable competency across the PMETB approved curriculum for higher training.
Registered for CPD with RCPsych.
Published research in MRCPsych (desirable).
MSc, MD or other postgraduate degrees (desirable).
Experience with Mental Health Act (1983) (desirable).
Area of special interest and expertise (desirable).

Employment Details Salary: £109,725 – £145,478 per year (pro‑rata, as part‑time 6 sessions).
