This post is based at/from our offices within Warwick District and is not suitable for home or hybrid working. Provide a high quality customer focused front of house service for cremations, strewing cremated remains and burials. Operating cremation plant and equipment ensuring an effective, efficient, economical service compliant with relevant codes of practice and statutory requirements. The services provided are of a nature where there is no “second chance” providing an excellent standard on every single occasion is paramount. The service is relatively small and operates in a specialised area, shift patterns include weekends and bank holidays, it is essential that the post holder understands all facets of the service and is able to assist and step into all roles as required. Day-to-day communication with bereaved people can be difficult because of the nature and it is frequently more detailed and complex than they imagine. The post holder must have excellent communication skills, high levels of tact, diplomacy and empathy are required to negotiate with a variety of stakeholders. The post holder will be required to maintain a first aid qualification This is a front-line post, attendance in person is necessary to perform duties. This post involves working weekends and bank-holidays on a rota basis during which times no immediate access to a manager or supervisory post will be available. The job includes a degree of physical effort, including lifting and involves working in awkward positions. The crematory is a very hot environment; front of house services are performed outdoors and it is not possible to avoid being in the elements. *To legally be able to perform this role the intermediate cremator operators certificate is required, if the applicant does not possess this they may be considered suitable for a “trainee” position entering the service at a lower pay grade, progression to the higher grade being wholly dependent upon obtaining the qualification, for which training and support will be provided. The qualification MUST be obtained within the 6 months probationary period for the employment to continue.
