Role Overview
A permanent Deputy Manager post has become available in a reputable nursing home in Bedford that specialises in elderly care, nursing, dementia, residential and respite care.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Manager in planning and implementing the highest quality nursing care for frail elderly residents, including those with dementia.
* Manage and motivate a team of nurses and carers, ensuring smooth operation of the nursing home.
* Work autonomously, building strong relationships with management and care staff.
* Maintain and assess the home’s high quality care standards.
* Organise and motivate the nursing team to deliver excellent care standards.
* Assist with inductions and orientations of new care staff.
* Uphold the home’s reputation as a recognised centre of excellence.
* Liaise with other healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary team members.
* Perform administrative duties.
Qualifications and Skills Required
* Qualified nurse – RGN or RMN – registered with the NMC.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Previous experience leading a team of nurses (minimum 5 years hands‑on nursing experience).
* Passion for elderly / dementia care.
* Certifiable with NMC PIN.
