We are currently recruiting for a Hospitality Assistant to join our team at one of our conference venues in Birmingham B1.
This is a casual/zero hour contract. Shifts will be on a rota basis, starting as early as 5:30am.
As a Hospitality Assistant you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service across a wide range of events—from conferences and banquets to receptions and private functions. Working closely with our Hospitality Managers, you’ll help bring events to life by preparing spaces, delivering high-quality food and beverage service, and ensuring every guest feels welcome.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare event spaces in line with detailed briefs, including layout, equipment, and catering.
2. Serve food and drinks, ensuring all dietary needs are met with care and professionalism.
3. Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments throughout event areas.
4. Greet and assist guests with courtesy and professionalism.
5. Support event delivery through ushering, bar work, and general hospitality tasks.
6. Set up and dismantle rooms before and after events, restoring them to standard layouts.
7. Handle basic kitchen and service tasks, including preparing hot drinks and light refreshments.
8. Wash, dry, and store crockery and service equipment post-event.
9. Cash up and reconcile tills when required.
10. Follow all event protocols and operational guidelines.
11. Support company policies including health & safety, customer care, equality, and data protection.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
12. Have experience working in a similar role and environment
13. Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
14. Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
15. Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
16. Have excellent customer service and social skills
17. Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
18. Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 15

20. Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
