About the role:
We are currently recruiting for an ICA Technician (Instrument, Control and Automation) based at our Camberley STW.
Working in Camberley and surrounding areas, you will operate and maintain approximately 250 waste pumping stations. Your role is vital in ensuring the delivery of essential services to our customers, communities, and the environment by keeping pumps operational.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, disciplined, eager to learn, and possesses a can-do attitude. The role can be demanding but rewarding.
Daily tasks include receiving planned workloads, responding to emergency alarms, working both in teams and independently, and maintaining high health and safety standards. Your van and tools will be provided and maintained by us.
Responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive repairs on equipment.
2. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians.
3. Installing, modifying, commissioning plant equipment, fault diagnosis, and reporting improvements.
4. Investigating plant failures and implementing repairs promptly.
5. Providing technical advice with current knowledge.
Location: Camberley - GU15 3YL
Working hours: 38 hours, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities that can increase earnings by £8,000-£10,000.
All PPE, tools, van, and fuel card are supplied.
Candidate requirements:
* Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems, including Wonderware (desirable), ClearSCADA, relay logic, and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley).
* Experience with instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure sensors, ultrasonics, and telemetry.
* Qualification to HNC level or equivalent, such as City and Guilds Part 2 or NVQ level 3 in electrical subjects.
* Ability to read circuit diagrams and fault find.
* Valid driving license, as travel across sites is required.
