Overview

The Team:

Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania’s northern hospital, and the Surgical and Perioperative Services (SAPS) provides high level broad surgical services to the north and northwest community within the LGH. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

* SAPS is a fast-paced area with a strong interdisciplinary team focused on best patient care and outcomes.
* Specific skills and experience in acute and complex pain management are desirable.
* The role of APS CNC works in close collaboration with the leadership team across the Department of Anaesthetics and the wider Department of Surgery to support exemplary evidence based and patient centred care.


The Role

* Using a multidisciplinary approach plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate advanced nursing care relating to acute pain management.
* The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Acute Pain Nurse fosters an environment that values and provides education, teaching, research, and quality activities in relation to acute pain management.


You will need

* Provide clinical consultancy and advice on all issues of acute pain management and act as a clinical resource person.
* Establish and monitor effective communication with other acute pain service team members, and other health professionals.
* Provide leadership in contemporary nursing practices and promote a professional focus and environment conducive to innovation and change.
* Provide expert clinical advice and recommendations in relation to the selection and utilisation of resources.

Details of appointments

* Permanent part time, shift worker position, working 6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you would like to join our team.
* Fixed term part time, shift worker position, working 4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you would like to join our team until 29 April 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

* Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

* Holds, or working towards, a qualification relevant to the speciality area.
