Job Overview
Our client is the UK's premier high street retailer. As a Store Detective, you will operate across their network of stores, observing and preventing theft of stock. The Detective team is crucial in identifying, apprehending and prosecuting criminals who target our client.
Main Duties
* Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity.
* Liaise with police and other crime‑prevention partners to stay up to date with crime trends.
* Build local networks to identify and disrupt crime.
* Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
* Attend court occasionally to provide evidence.
What we are looking for
* Must be able to drive.
* Highly adaptable – each day at regional stores is different.
* Remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
* Experience in a customer‑facing role with strong customer service background.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal); GCSE in English or equivalent.
* Proactive, forward‑thinking approach and desire to improve existing working practices.
* Self‑motivated, can‑do attitude and drive to learn.
* Positive, outgoing personality looking to be part of a strong and established team.
* Essential: SIA licensed – store detective experience highly desirable.
* Exceptional observational skills; ability to handle sensitive situations and make quick decisions.
* Confidence to challenge people when necessary.
* Ability to use modern surveillance systems (CCTV, electronic tags).
