Durham University International Study Centre (DUISC) launched in September 2017. You will be working in a culture of enhancing learning, teaching and assessment through a developmental approach, which for you will mean autonomy, innovation, and development opportunities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
* Deliver modules (online and face‑to‑face) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assist with module development.
* Develop modules from specifications, including schemes of learning and appropriate learning resources.
* Prepare module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, mark and provide feedback to students.
* Assist with development and maintenance of the Centre’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitate student access.
* Provide input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of student attendance and performance.
* Provide academic learning support to a small number of students when required.
* Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
* Support various student engagement activities around the ISC.
* Attend lectures given by Durham University to support student progression.
* Arrange and support visits to places of interest linked to the subject.
ABOUT YOU
* A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (essential)
* A recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
* A Master’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area (desirable)
* Fluent spoken and written English
* Teaching experience delivering Business programmes within a Sixth Form, Further Education or Higher Education context.
* Experience working with international students (desirable)
* A student‑centred approach.
* Confident practitioner online (e.g. use of Teams/Zoom) and face to face
* Able to master a wide range of online teaching software.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Flexibility.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Strong sense of teamwork.
