Protocol Education is working with schools in the Downend area to appoint committed, flexible Teaching Assistants to become vital members of our support team. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to gain experience across various educational settings and with children of different ages, on a schedule that suits them. You will have your own online diary to update, allowing us to offer you work on days you are available.
The Role
1. As a flexi-cover teaching assistant, you will work across schools and year groups as needed, covering staff absence, supporting additional staff, or providing intervention support.
2. You will support and manage pupils' behaviour, ensuring a positive and constructive environment.
3. De-escalate classroom situations appropriately, always adhering to safeguarding procedures.
4. Work 1:1 or in small groups, including supporting SEND children for short periods when required.
5. Report safeguarding concerns following school referral procedures and policies.
