An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and expanding local company with ambitious growth plans. We are seeking a commercially astute and technically strong Financial Controller to become a key member of our leadership team.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience. You will have a proven track record of managing and developing finance teams, implementing process improvements, and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role will involve close collaboration with company directors and other senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Finance Director weekly and leading a small finance team
* Deliver accurate and timely management accounts for the group, with monthly board presentations
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning
* Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors and banking partners
* Prepare and submit VAT returns, with consideration for Duty Deferment and Postponed VAT Accounting
* Drive improvements in financial systems, internal controls, and reporting — with a focus on automation and the adoption of AI tools
* Overseeing accounts payable and preparing supplier payment runs
* Administer and manage the company’s profit-sharing employee bonus scheme
What We’re Looking For
* This position is available for an immediate start
* ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
* At least five years of relevant post-qualification experience
* Demonstrable leadership and team management skills
* Experience in enhancing financial processes and systems
* Strong analytical, communication, and presentation abilities
* Commercially minded, with a proactive and solution-focused approach
* Experience with NetSuite is a plus, but not essential
* Eligibility to join a company-wide profit-sharing bonus scheme following a successful probation period
