About the Company
A fast-growing independent insurance brokerage with a strong presence in the UK commercial insurance market. The business is currently expanding through acquisitions and strategic investment, with ambitious plans to significantly grow its broking GWP over the next few years.
The Birmingham office is home to a well-established trading team, working closely with experienced Account Executives and leadership to deliver tailored insurance solutions to a diverse commercial client base.
Role Summary
This position supports Account Executives in servicing larger and more complex commercial clients while also managing a portfolio of SME cases independently.
You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of commercial risks, including bespoke placements and larger premium accounts, making this a strong step for someone looking to progress toward an Account Executive or senior broking role.
Key Responsibilities
* Support Account Executives on larger commercial clients: Assist with placement and servicing of complex insurance programmes.
* Manage a portfolio of SME clients: Maintain strong relationships and oversee policy servicing for your own accounts.
* Handle mid-term adjustments and renewals: Ensure policies remain accurate and competitive throughout the policy lifecycle.
* Assist with market placement and negotiations: Work with insurers to secure the best outcomes for clients.
* Identify cross-sell opportunities: Help grow client relationships and generate additional revenue.
Requirements
* Experience in a Commercial Account Handler or Client Adviser role
* Experience working alongside Account Executives on larger commercial clients
* Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and placements
* Experience dealing with higher premiums or more complex risks
* Strong communication and relationship management skills
