Company

Elysia is a Battery Intelligence company redefining how batteries are understood, optimised, and deployed. Blending electrochemistry, software and data science, they operate across the entire battery value chain, automotive, BESS and heavy‑drivetrain platforms, backed by Fortescue’s £40B+ sustainability ecosystem.

Role Purpose

You will act as the primary technical contact on customer‑facing projects to translate requirements and provide technical support under the joint supervision of the technical specialist and core cloud development team. You will build automated customer pipelines for battery analytics by integrating and customising the existing codebase into customer‑specific orchestration frameworks, taking requirements from the product development team and/or existing customers. The aim is to produce business‑relevant, actionable battery insights through an understanding of both battery electrochemistry and systems integration. You will collaborate with the broader cloud team in developing the Battery Intelligence Cloud Platform, accelerating electrification globally by maximising, protecting and assuring battery performance, safety and reliability across its life‑cycle through advanced software and analytics.

Key Skills Required

* Experience handling/interfacing with customers.
* Strong data science background (statistical modelling, machine learning or applied analytics).
* Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modelling and cloud applications.
* Automotive domain knowledge or experience (e.g. vehicle systems, electrification, battery applications).
* Exposure to electrochemistry, power systems, energy storage, physics, chemistry or chemical engineering is beneficial but not essential.

Job Responsibilities

Integration of battery analytics

* Build orchestration frameworks of battery algorithms to evaluate performance, lifetime and safety of batteries in live operating environments.
* Enhance and adapt existing algorithms to optimise performance for specific customers.
* Understand scalability and robustness of algorithms using both data‑driven and physics‑informed approaches, integrating correct elements to provide optimal solutions for clients.

Customer technical engagement

* Understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Ensure the validity of outputs in an automated environment and support customers in interpreting the results of Elysia’s products.
* Understand Elysia’s evolving position in target markets and value proposition to build algorithms generalisable across different use cases.

Why this opportunity

* Elysia offers the best of both worlds: a start‑up mindset with the stability of a blue‑chip giant.
* Over 60,000+ real‑world battery data from commercial and motorsport vehicles supports development.
* Elysia aims to be the go‑to Battery Intelligence partner.
* Recently signed a partnership with a major European OEM to provide Battery Intelligence for future vehicles, saving the OEM a £500 million recall with Elysia's technology.
* Full life‑cycle project exposure across multiple projects.
* Opportunities to progress into subject‑matter expertise or management roles.
* Exposure to next‑generation technology.

We are an equal‑opportunities employer. You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply. At Elysia we are committed to building a team that encompasses a variety of backgrounds, experiences and skills, and encourage the diversity of thought that comes from all walks of life.

If you have a disability or require reasonable adjustments, we are more than happy to discuss and support you in your application.
