Site Engineer
Location: Plymouth - Devonport Project (full-time site based)
Rate: c£400 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
Contract: Contract role
Hours: 45 hrs per week (approx. 07:30-17:00)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support works on the Devonport project, operating within a live MOD environment. Reporting to the WRB / Building Lead, you will assist with engineering compliance, setting out, quality control, and day-to-day site engineering activities.
BPSS security clearance required (can take up to 8 weeks). Candidates must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years and hold a NATO or MISWG passport.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with as-built drawings and drawing registers
Setting out works within tolerances from site control
Support quality checks, inspections, and surveys
Record testing of workmanship and materials (RC, drainage, piling, etc.)
Provide engineering support and resolve technical queries
Maintain calibration records for survey equipment
Complete daily diaries and update trackers
Assist with site safety, environmental, and quality inspections
Support procurement of site materials and equipment
Experience Required
Experience in a Site Engineer role on major construction projects
Strong setting-out capability (Leica GPS / Total Station preferred)
Experience with reinforced concrete structures and system formwork
Civil engineering qualification or equivalent desirable
CSCS (White AQP), Supervisor HSE test required
Familiar with QMS and RAMS
Experience in regulated or MOD environments preferred
