About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our maintenance team within a fast-paced microelectronics manufacturing environment. This role is critical in supporting the reliability, performance, and continuous operation of a wide range of laser systems and associated production equipment used throughout the manufacturing process.The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, calibration, and safe operation of laser equipment ranging from legacy systems through to modern state-of-the-art platforms. Working closely with engineering, production, and health & safety teams, the Laser Engineer will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment performance, and ensuring compliance with all safety standards and procedures.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on technical problem solving in a highly specialised manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLaser Systems Maintenance & SupportCarry out routine preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial laser systems and associated equipment.Diagnose faults and perform repairs on laser systems spanning multiple generations of technology, from legacy systems through to current platforms.Support installation, commissioning, calibration, and validation activities for new and existing laser equipment.Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and documentation in accordance with company procedures.Liaise with equipment manufacturers and external service providers where necessary.Fault Finding & RepairPerform detailed electrical and electronic fault finding to component level.Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical, optical, and control system issues.Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and uptime.Assist in developing preventative maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.Laser Safety & ComplianceAct as, or support, the Laser Safety Officer (LSO) function within the business.
