Band 5 or 6 Biomedical Scientist
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly, dedicated, and expanding team of professionals as a Band 5 or 6 Biomedical Scientist. You must have an IBMS registration certificate.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactive member of the Blood Sciences Team, requiring exceptional communication skills and the ability to work within a team processing a high workload of specimens.
* Excellent multitasking, organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise urgent work.
* Take an active role in the training and development of staff within the department, from Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to Band 5 Biomedical Scientist (BMS).
* Participate in the 24/7 shift system covering dayshifts, late shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays; cover for annual leave or sickness as needed.
* Understand the need for analytical quality and clinical urgency, and take appropriate action when abnormal pathology results are identified to maintain the highest standards of patient care.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
* IBMS accredited BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
* IBMS registration certificate.
* UK-based laboratory experience.
Work Schedule
The department operates a 24/7 shift system covering dayshifts, late shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays. You will participate as required, covering for annual leave or sickness where necessary.
Additional Information
The department has a specialist portfolio training programme in place and has a proven track record of success. The successful applicant will take an active role in training and developing staff within the department from MLA to Band 5 BMS.
