Position summary
Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a motivated Ophthalmologist to take up the position of Specialty Doctor within Ophthalmology. This is an important post within the department and we are hoping to recruit an innovative and committed individual.
This is a new post and the post-holder will continue to further develop the hospital’s Ophthalmology Service.
You will be a highly valued member of the team bringing your expertise and skills to a busy Ophthalmology department. The post will provide an opportunity to improve and develop our already established Ophthalmology service.
The service is provided across 3 sites: Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Montagu Hospital in Mexborough and Bassetlaw Hospital.
The successful applicant will work innovatively with our clinical team and a range of partners to research, design and delivery within the Ophthalmology Service. Key partners will be the Trust A&E Departments, Optometrists, GP’s Nurses and Managers in the Integrated Care Board.
You will work across the three Trust sites, and split site working within the same day would be avoided whenever possible. Your individual job plan will be reviewed and agreed annually.
The successful candidate will be supported in developing their sub‑specialty interest. They will have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and will work closely with consultant colleagues for the proper functioning of the department.
