About the role
We are looking for a Researcher to work within our Organisational Learning, Partnership and Inspection Team. The successful candidate will be critical in helping Hampshire
and IOW Constabulary with their purpose of making 'You, Your Family, and Our Communities Safer'.
You'll work closely with the Research and Learning Officer to:
- Capture and develop organisational learning across Hampshire and IOW Constabulary.
- Contribute to force:wide publications and articles.
- Support academic studies and internal projects.
- Research, analyse, and interpret a wide range of information sources to produce insights that aid decision:making and operational improvements.
A keen interest in data and research is key, as is creative and innovative problem solving. You will be working collaboratively within a multi:skilled team where you will need
to communicate clearly and concisely, be flexible, proactive, and eager to learn across a variety of topics.

Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with customers to identify and assist problem solving, identify appropriate and relevant data sources for the task at hand.
2. Research, collate, evaluate and disseminate information from a wide range of open and closed information sources in relation to problems, patterns, trends and series to support analysis.
3. Produce, evaluate and take responsibility for creating accurate, high quality and easy to use reports and contribute to products produced by analysts.
4. Liaise with and work in partnership with other organisations, to gather and research information
5. Maintain knowledge of the current products and Force priorities.
6. Prepare data, charts, maps etc. to support investigations and operations (for example, major Force events) as required

Essential Qualifications
Educated toQCF Level 2(5 passes to include English language and Maths) OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
Essential Experience
Experience of researching and collating data
Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate and timely reports
Demonstrate a basic understanding of research processes and techniques
Ability to use own initiative and possessing good time management skills
Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Good literacy and numeracy skills
