Couverture & The Garbstore was conceived as a creative concept by Emily Dyson and Ian Paley in 2008. Housed in a three-story converted period townhouse, this Notting Hill style haven transports you through an eclectic edit of menswear, womenswear, accessories and homeware, focusing on championing cult international labels and stocking limited edition collaborations and exclusive products.
Overview
This 3-day a week internship supports the social media and web teams with the day-to-day delivery of organic social content across both Couverture and Garbstore accounts. It is designed for someone who has already gained hands-on, in-house experience and is looking to deepen their understanding of how social operates within a retail and e-commerce environment. The role focuses on execution, organisation, and learning through real responsibility rather than observation.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the planning, creation, scheduling, and publishing of organic social content across platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest.
* Prepare social assets using existing brand imagery and video, including editing, resizing, and format optimisation.
* Draft captions and story copy in line with brand tone and visual identity, with guidance and feedback from the social team.
* Manage scheduled posts and ensure content is published accurately and on time.
* Support community management by monitoring comments and messages, responding to straightforward customer enquiries, and escalating when needed.
* Track and compile performance metrics such as reach, engagement, saves, and website clicks, and assist with weekly and monthly reporting.
* Carry out regular trend and competitor research, identifying relevant formats and content ideas.
* Assist with coordinating content with internal teams and external partners.
* Provide occasional support to the e-commerce and web teams, including product uploads and content coordination.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Previous in-house experience supporting organic social media, through an internship, placement, or junior role.
* Practical experience creating content for social platforms, with an understanding of platform formats and best practices.
* Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools, preferably Later.com
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks within a part-time schedule.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of numeracy: Grade B / Level 6 or above at GCSE in Maths and English
* You can work on-site from the studio in Notting Hill, London, 3 days a week
* You have a visa / citizenship that gives you a right to work in the UK
