Job Description Senior Architect Plymouth An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architect to take on a strategic, delivery-focused role within a growing architectural team based in Plymouth. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in process, project management, and improving the internal delivery of large-scale architectural projects, while maintaining close involvement in design and technical delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage internal change control procedures on complex, large-scale projects Provide direction and oversight to ensure deliverables are met and initiate changes where additional services are requested Coordinate with directly appointed consultants and internal multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient delivery and communication Oversee programme timelines and manage delivery packages across sectors Support NEC contract processes, including programme amendments and risk management Raise early warnings, anticipate challenges, and take proactive steps to minimise project risk Act as a liaison between contractors, clients, consultants, and internal teams Contribute to strategic decision-making during key project meetings Work closely with internal teams to embed best practices across projects Required Skills and Experience Significant architectural experience, ideally with exposure to healthcare projects Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and programme management Demonstrated leadership across all RIBA stages, from concept to site coordination Proven success in delivering complex, high-value projects within time and budget constraints Experience working in a design- and delivery-led environment Ability to manage both large and smaller concurrent projects Strong communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills Strategic approach to problem-solving and process optimisation Willingness to work regularly from the Plymouth studio and attend project meetings as needed Desirable Skills Experience delivering healthcare projects Familiarity with MMC and BIM workflows Background in coordinating large consultant teams Interest in long-term operational strategy and internal project management Previous leadership of projects valued between £20m and £100m What’s on Offer Full-time or part-time position (minimum 3 days per week) Flexible and supportive working environment Comprehensive benefits package Contemporary studio setting Open, collaborative, and people-focused culture
