We are currently seeking an Ethics and Compliance Manager to join our team and support the firm in meeting its regulatory, ethical and professional obligations.
Working closely with the Ethics, AML and Audit Partners alongside senior leadership, you will be responsible for a broad range of duties including, but not limited to:
Responding to ethical queries raised by staff and partners, providing clear guidance aligned with regulatory standards. Identifying, managing and resolving conflicts of interest, including documentation and escalation where required.
Applying knowledge of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), mediation or resolution approaches when managing internal or client‑related disputes.
Assisting with engagement terms and scope, ensuring risks are appropriately assessed and mitigated. Receiving, managing and resolving client complaints, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Managing staff grievances and disciplinary proceedings in line with internal processes.
Liaising with Professional Regulators (, ICAEW), including handling regulatory complaints, QAD enquiries, annual compliance and other regulatory responsibilities.
Liaising with professional indemnity insurers, maintaining the insurance register, and supporting renewal or claims processes.
Undertaking contract reviews and advising on contractual risk. Assisting with ICAEW complaint responses and related regulatory matters.
Applying and advising on the FRC Ethical Standards and IESBA Code of Ethics. Supporting court processes (small claims, CPR, insolvency) and related matters when required.
Ensuring the firm meets its anti‑money laundering (AML) obligations. Maintaining accurate records, reports and compliance documentation as required.
Undertake any other responsibilities or projects as reasonably requested to support the firm’s regulatory and ethical objectives.
Ideally the standard hours for this position are – Monday to Friday though we are committed to fair and inclusive hiring practices and will consider part time working arrangements, where possible. We are offering a competitive salary, based on qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate should have:
Qualified Chartered Accountant status (essential). Practical knowledge of FRC Ethical Standards and the IESBA Code of Ethics. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, with experience liaising with bodies such as the ICAEW (ideal). Knowledge of AML regulations and compliance obligations. Experience in conflict management, complaints handling, dispute resolution or mediation. Excellent judgement and the ability to interpret complex ethical and compliance scenarios. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally. Excellent organisational and record‑keeping skills. Ability to work collaboratively with partners, managers and staff across the business. A proactive, thorough and risk‑aware approach.
