Our product management team comprises technologists passionate about delivering products that shape market demands and promote open source software globally. This application track is for a product management position focused on Networking. This role involves leadership in Smart NIC and ToR switches sectors, requiring an analytical storyteller with strong messaging skills and understanding of leveraging these technologies with Linux. Preferably, candidates have software engineering management experience and aspire to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in product strategy and engagement. At Canonical, you will engage with the open-source community and industry partners to develop innovative Smart NIC and ToR solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading Ubuntu and Ubuntu Core integration as the OS for Smart NIC products
2. Shaping development roadmaps for Smart NIC and ToR switches
3. Engaging with the ecosystem and key customers
4. Enabling commercial success and guiding product direction
5. Driving go-to-market strategies and execution
This role covers product leadership and go-to-market strategy, ensuring alignment from conception to delivery, and staying ahead of market demands. Product managers at Canonical bridge technology and business, identify market opportunities, and work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and management to ensure product success and contribute to overall strategy. Candidates should possess technical expertise, strategic thinking, project management skills, and effective communication abilities.
Location: This role is remote within the EMEA region, and candidates must be based there.
Responsibilities include:

3. Conducting market research and analyzing industry trends
4. Communicating product vision and updates
5. Iterating based on user feedback
6. Supporting go-to-market strategies and customer engagement
Ideal candidates will have:
1. Strong academic results
2. Understanding of Linux and open source communities
3. Passion for technology writing
4. Work ethic and alignment with open source values
5. Product management experience in software (for senior roles)
6. Knowledge of hyperscale and enterprise data center architectures
7. Deep understanding of network protocols and hardware/software integration
8. Familiarity with relevant software and standards (e.g., SONiC, FRRouting)
9. Experience with large-scale network design and operation
10. Curiosity and continuous learning mindset
11. Ownership, problem-solving, and innovation skills
12. Excellent English communication skills
13. Ability to travel up to four times a year
