Supervising Social Worker
An outstanding-rated Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) is seeking dedicated Qualified Social Workers for a permanent, full-time, remote-based position as a Supervising Social Worker.
This role offers a supportive, home-based environment where professional well-being is prioritised through manageable caseloads and high-quality specialist resources.
What the Agency Offers
The role is designed to provide a balanced workload and high-quality support for staff covering the Swindon, Oxfordshire, and Hounslow regions.
* Remote & Flexible Working: The role is fully remote/home-based, requiring travel within your agreed operational area for required visits.
* Exceptional Specialist Support: The agency provides strong support mechanisms including:
o Behaviour Specialists – offer support and guidance to carers managing challenging behaviours and provide specialist training.
o Health Professionals – involved in monitoring health needs and providing training on child health and development.
o Educational Advisors – promote achievement, attainment, and stability in educational placement.
o Support Workers – provide emotional and practical help to children and carers, including direct 1:1 work, activities, and transport assistance.
1. Focus on Supervision: Supervising Social Workers are not required to handle Form F assessments or incoming referrals, as these are managed by separate external teams. The core focus is on providing monthly supervision to a manageable caseload.

The agency offers a competitive package that recognises the value of experienced social work practice in the South East/Greater London area:
* Competitive Salary: Up to £42,500 per annum.
* Generous Car Allowance: £3,400 to support travel across the regional coverage area.
* Generous Annual Leave: 30 days annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays.
* Enhanced OOH Pay: Out-of-hours duty over the phone, typically 2-3 days a month. Pay is £25 for weekdays and £50 for weekends, doubled on a bank holiday.

The Role & Responsibilities
The Supervising Social Worker is responsible for providing intensive support to foster carers to enable them to provide the very best quality of care to vulnerable children.
* Core Duties: Provide monthly supervision, undertake planned and unannounced visits to children in placement (within your operational area), and formulate training and development plans for carers.
* Statutory Compliance: Work in accordance with the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and the Fostering Services National Minimum Standards 2011.
* Duty Commitment: Be part of a duty rota (usually 2-3 times a month) to support the running of the service both within and outside of normal office hours.
Candidate Requirements
* Professional Status: Must be a Qualified Social Worker.
* Qualifications: MA/BA in social work/DipSW/CQSW is essential.
* Mobility: The successful candidate must be a car driver with their own car to effectively cover the agreed operational area.
