Overview
Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking a skilled Electrical Architect/Engineer to oversee all aspects of missile development, from initial concept to series production and in-service support. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your engineering experience. As an experienced electrical architect/engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing the electrical architecture, missile system, and launcher requirements.
Key responsibilities
* Define the electrical architecture based on requirements, establish the power architecture and safety design, define interface characteristics between subsystems, determine requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening, support test activities, and review and author guidelines and processes related to design.
* Act as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment(s) when required; project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification, and manufacture; produce Statements of Work for the associated design authority; technically manage internal & external suppliers to deliver the equipment(s) work packages to time, cost, quality, and performance requirements; review qualification verification evidence and control assigned budgets for both activities and manage workload.
What you need
* Technical Experience Required: Electrical/Electronics/Systems engineering (Essential)
* Knowledge of defence/industry standards, etc.
* HND or Degree level qualification in a related subject (ideally defence-related, but other engineering backgrounds may be considered)
* Experience in writing reports
* Experience in related areas is also of interest but not essential
* Power supplies; Sensors; Actuators; Defence; Weapon Systems
* Health Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS)
* EMC
* ATEX regulations

About the role
Our client’s relationship with the UK military spans over 70 years, delivering defence engineering milestones and vital capability across land, sea, and air. The role is based at their headquarters in Stevenage, a site central to missiles operations with strong transport links and onsite amenities. Training and development are offered to all employees.
