The Opportunity
Randstad Tuition Services, in partnership with a key city secondary school, is launching an exciting 6:month pilot program aimed at tackling educational disengagement. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Youth Re:engagement Mentor to support young people who are struggling to attend and thrive in school.
This is a relationship:first role requiring you to meet students where they are:starting in the family home and community:to rebuild trust and motivation.
What You Will Do
You will serve as a positive role model, providing intensive, hands:on support to help young people reconnect with education:
* Extensive Outreach: Provide extensive support to facilitate re:engagement with education, starting with outreach in the family home and local community.
* Mentorship and Emotional Support: Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support to young people with complex needs and challenging home circumstances.
* Positive Development: Mentor young people to achieve positive outcomes, helping them develop healthy lifestyles, build positive relationships, and make responsible choices.
* Compliance and Safety: Follow all safeguarding policies and risk assessments, maintain accurate record keeping, and contribute to the safeguarding of vulnerable young people.
* Restorative Practice: Utilize restorative approaches when dealing with challenging situations to encourage accountability and resolution.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is resilient, creative, and experienced in navigating complex family dynamics:
* Experience (Essential): Proven experience working with hard:to:reach young people and families with complex needs.
* Resilience and Composure: Able to deal with challenging behaviour, stay calm under pressure, and maintain a resilient, positive approach.
* Adaptability and Innovation: Demonstrate the ability to be highly responsive, creative, and innovative with tailored interventions while effectively managing risk in the community.
* Collaboration: Experienced in forming positive working relationships with a variety of professional partners (e.g., Social Workers, School SENCOs).
* Childs Voice: Possess knowledge and experience of the importance of gathering and utilizing the childs voice in planning interventions.
* Essential Requirements
* Driving: Must hold a valid UK drivers license and have access to a reliable vehicle for outreach duties.
