Location: The Christie Private Care Centre, Manchester
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday – Part-time hours will also be considered
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive (dependent on skills & experience) which includes late shift, on-call and weekend services allowance)
Overview
We’re looking for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Acute Care and Oncology) to join our Pharmacy team at The Christie Private Care Centre, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The Christie Private Care provides advanced cancer care and houses the world’s largest early clinical trials unit, offering a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical, day care and outpatient treatment on one site.
Responsibilities
* The post holder will support the delivery and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services to all Oncology services at The Christie Private Care Hospital (TCPC).
* Provide a high quality clinical pharmacy service which meets the needs of patients and healthcare professionals within TCPC.
* Bring experience in Oncology Services, be motivated, proactive and contribute to the development and growth of the pharmacy department within TCPC.
* Support the implementation of medicine management systems concerned with Oncology and Acute Care services at TCPC.
* Provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to Oncology and Acute services.
* Act as a role model in the oncology pharmacy field and undertake clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and teaching of nursing and medical staff.
* Be professionally accountable for any pharmacy function for which they assume responsibility.
What You’ll Bring
* Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council, with a BPharm, MPharm or BSc in Pharmacy
* Additional postgraduate clinical qualification e.g. Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or other relevant post-graduation qualification
* Acute hospital experience essential
* Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society is desirable
* Experience in a clinical specialist area – e.g. Oncology and Acute Medicine is highly desirable
