Who You Are We are looking for Senior Family Engagement Officers who have strong communication skills and enjoy working with families from diverse backgrounds. You should be able to build positive relationships with children, parents, professionals, and the wider community. You are highly organized, confident in using ICT systems, and capable of managing competing priorities. An understanding of the challenges faced by families and the importance of early intervention is essential, along with the ability to work well in a busy, multi-agency environment. Providing excellent customer service and upholding the Council’s values should be second nature to you. What the Job Involves This role involves welcoming families into the centre and building positive, trusting relationships. You will manage a busy reception area, ensuring a high standard of customer care, and respond to enquiries from families, professionals, and partners by phone, email, and face-to-face. Providing information, advice, and signposting around childcare, health, finance, and family support, as well as maintaining accurate family records, registrations, and attendance data, is an integral part of your responsibilities. You will act as a super user for the children’s centre database, supporting colleagues with system use, coordinating the Your Bump and Beyond antenatal programme, and producing data reports. Supporting the wider team with administration and centre operations, ensuring all data handling meets Council policies, including safeguarding and data protection, is also crucial.
