About the Role:
Nottingham Forest is seeking keen and dedicated Pitch Performance Apprentices to join our Pitch Performance Team. We have 3 roles available at the City Ground, Nigel Doughty Academy, and Holme Road Training Site. The apprentices will assist in the preparation and maintenance of playing surfaces, impacting player performance. Tasks include pitch cutting, marking, equipment upkeep, working with data testing equipment, and maintaining high standards across all sites.
The apprentices will:
* Be part of a welcoming, inclusive, and forward-thinking team that prioritizes your growth and success.
* Receive full support to complete the two-year Level 2 Sports Turf Operative apprenticeship standard.
* Gain valuable experience in sports turf maintenance within a competitive sporting environment.
* Learn about data-driven approaches to pitch management and player performance.
* Learn from experienced club staff.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Maintain pitches and playing areas to high professional standards under the guidance of the pitch performance team.
* Perform pre and post-training/match tasks, including marking, cutting, divoting, mowing, spraying, etc.
* Undertake minor construction and landscaping tasks.
* Operate and maintain machinery, vehicles, and equipment used for grounds maintenance.
* Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring work areas are clean and organized.
* Collaborate with colleagues and club staff.
* Work flexibly, including participating in weekend/midweek match coverage.
What we are looking for:

* A team player attitude with the ability to work independently.
* Commitment to health and safety standards.
* Examples of successful teamwork.
* GCSE English (Grade 2-9/E-A*), GCSE Maths (Grade 2-9/E-A*), and GCSE in two other subjects (Grade 2-9/E-A*) are essential.
Qualifications and Assessment:
Apprentices will achieve the Level 2 Sports Turf Operative certificate and may join the IOG Register of Turf Management Professionals.
The End Point Assessment (EPA) includes:
* A written and online test assessing knowledge and behaviors (40%) graded as Fail/Pass/Merit/Distinction.
* A practical skills assessment (60%) graded as Fail/Pass/Merit/Distinction.
