The Role:
As Associate Ecologist, you’ll play a key role in expanding the ecology offering across Yorkshire and the North. You'll lead complex and meaningful projects, mentor junior consultants, and collaborate with other technical disciplines to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
You’ll be based out of a brand-new Leeds office and will work closely with senior leadership to develop client relationships, grow the ecology pipeline, and make a real impact in the region.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver a wide range of ecological surveys (including UKHabs and protected species)
*
Produce and review high-quality reports: PEAs, EIAs, BNGs, HRAs, Mitigation Strategies
*
Lead and manage complex ecological projects from start to finish
*
Support and mentor junior consultants and graduates
*
Engage in business development and attend industry events
*
Collaborate across landscape, planning, and arboriculture teams
*
Build and maintain strong client relationships
What We’re Looking For:
*
Degree in Ecology or Biological Sciences
*
CIEEM membership (working towards Chartership)
*
Strong field survey skills; UKHabs and at least one protected species licence preferred
*
Experience in project and budget management
*
Excellent communication and leadership skills
*
Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning frameworks
*
Full UK Driving Licence
