Integra Education is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Key worker to support a young person within an alternative provision setting in the Baildon area.
This is a highly rewarding role where you will provide personalised, one-to-one support, helping a young person overcome barriers to learning and build confidence, independence, and essential life skills. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, trusting relationship that supports both emotional wellbeing and engagement in education—particularly for a pupil with a PDA profile and Autism (ASD).
About the Role:
As a Key worker you will work as part of a wider, supportive team, delivering tailored guidance across various learning environments on site. Your ability to adapt, connect, and respond to the individual’s needs will be key to their progress and success.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 09:00-17:30
Friday - 09:00-17:00
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalised 1:1 support tailored to the young person’s learning and emotional needs
Build a strong, trusting relationship that fosters engagement and emotional security
Support with organisation, planning, and diary/time management skills
Encourage the development of life skills, confidence, and independence
Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure consistent and effective support
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
Proven experience working with young people with Autism and PDA, ideally in a one-to-one setting
Strong understanding of Autism and PDA, including demand avoidance, sensory sensitivities, and differing learning styles
Experience in mentoring or supporting young people
Ability to build positive, professional relationships and adapt to individual needs
Desirable:
Experience supporting young people transitioning towards adulthood
Relevant qualifications in SEN, mentoring, child development, or similar fields
