Maintenance Engineer
Salary: 40,000
Location: Caerphilly
Permanent: Monday - Friday, three shift pattern
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client as a permanent position due to expansion. An excellent company to work for with lots of opportunity for progression.
Responsibilites:
* Maintain efficient production
o Ensure assets are properly maintained and technical capabilities are upheld.
o Comply with all regulatory and company standards.
* Equipment setup and operation
o Set up, operate, adjust, and perform minor preventive maintenance on production equipment.
o Keep equipment and the work floor clean, safe, and well-maintained.
o Conduct regular inspections, cleaning, servicing, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
o Maintain accurate maintenance logs for all machines or processes overseen.
* Quality assurance
o Ensure products are produced exactly as intended and free of defects.
o Monitor and check product quality, identifying deviations from standards and taking corrective action.
o Maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate compliance with internal and external quality systems and regulations.
* Testing and troubleshooting
o Run tests on assemblies and equipment to verify safety, productivity, and readiness for production.
o Identify problems during testing, propose solutions, and troubleshoot using technical knowledge.
o Escalate issues to senior staff when necessary.
* Process monitoring
o Monitor and control processes using visual checks, process data, and online testing.
o Set up and operate various machines, tools, and highly automated manufacturing cells.
o Work on or oversee assembly stations.
* Lean manufacturing and productivity
o Apply lean principles to eliminate waste in the production process.
o Ensure the production area is safe, organized, and stocked with required inventory.
o Provide regular productivity and incident reports.
* Skills and Attributes
o A time served engineer with minimum HNC/HND qualification in an Engineering discipline is essential.
o Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively and within a cost effect manner.
o Confident decision maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions.
