Contract: 12-month fixed term contract, full-time 37.5 hours per week
Location: Royal Mail, Pond Street, Sheffield, S98 6HR - hybrid working (3 days in-office)

We’re growing our Pay Services Team in Sheffield and looking for motivated individuals to help us deliver accurate, efficient, and reliable payroll services. This is your chance to make a real impact by supporting our workforce and ensuring data integrity across our pay operations.


You’ll join a collaborative team of specialists dedicated to maintaining precise employee records and remuneration data. From analysing pay structures and ensuring compliance to resolving queries and supporting reporting and project work, your contribution will help drive operational excellence.

About the role



* Input, maintain, and validate payroll data including salary, overtime, bonuses, Tax/NI, salary sacrifice, pensions, and leave.
* Provide high-quality support to internal teams and stakeholders by interpreting policies and ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
* Maintain service standards, troubleshoot issues, and escalate where appropriate.
* Contribute to process reviews and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
* Take part in team meetings and development sessions, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
* Take ownership of your professional development and help shape the future of the team.


About you



* Solid experience in Payroll, PAYE, and statutory payments, with strong knowledge of payroll calculations and processing.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with experience handling large datasets and spotting trends or inconsistencies.
* Advanced Excel skills and confidence using data tools and systems.
* Clear, professional communication skills – both written and verbal.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver exceptional internal service.
* A collaborative mindset and adaptable approach to evolving business needs.
