Job Description
Operating as a key commercial contact, you will take ownership of a portfolio of major infrastructure clients, ensuring long-term partnerships, strong commercial performance and sustainable growth across key projects.Field-based role covering Yorkshire and the NorthThe Key Account Manager will:Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts across infrastructure, highways and civil engineering projectsBuild senior relationships within Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors and key decision-makersDrive account performance across volume, margin and long-term framework agreementsIdentify and unlock new project opportunities within existing and target accountsLead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions and contract developmentCollaborate with operations, logistics and technical teams to deliver consistently high service levelsProvide accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility and market insight to leadershipSupport wider regional growth strategy through strategic account planning
The Successful Applicant
A successful External Account Manager should have:Proven experience in Key Account Management, Business Development or Account Leadership within:
Strong experience managing large, complex, multi-site or framework-based accountsEstablished relationships or experience working with Tier 1 / Tier 2 contractorsCommercially strong with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated ability to grow existing accounts and identify new project opportunitiesExperience managing or mentoring people is highly advantageous (succession planning focus)Proactive, structured and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment
