SCP 26 - £28,433 to SCP 28 - £30,319 pro-rata
Job Purpose:
Collaborating closely with the Head of Communications, Marketing and Fundraising as well as the Engagement and Development Officer, you will work to develop awareness and fundraising income from Schools & Parishes, within the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Job Purpose:
To work as part of the Fundraising, Communications & Marketing Team as an effective ambassador for our charity, thereby increasing involvement in the support of the mission of Fathers Hudson's Caritas. Working closely with Catholic Schools and Parishes within the Diocese the role involves delivering assemblies, workshops and presentations and arranging school visits to our Coleshill site and projects.
The role plays a key part in developing our income, in line with our departmental strategy, supported by well-established campaigns and initiatives.
This will involve travel across a designated area within the Diocese.
The successful candidate needs to be comfortable working in a faith setting and promoting Catholic Social Action or with a desire to learn and understand this.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Schools -
1. Schools work – You will book and deliver effective and inspiring presentations, e.g. assemblies and workshops to both Primary & Secondary and independent schools to promote awareness of our work, whilst encouraging the further development of fundraising and social action.
2. Relationship building with Headteachers / RE Co-ordinators and other school staff to raise awareness of our Mission and being aware of the importance of Catholic Social Teaching.
3. Actively promote our campaigns and initiatives.
4. In collaboration with our Schools Lead and marketing team work to continually develop new school resources around our work, both electronically and paper based.
Parishes -
1. Seek opportunities to raise awareness within Parishes of the work of Father Hudsons.
2. Recruit Parish Representatives to assist your work within parishes.
3. Enlist, encourage, support, and motivate individual, groups and community groups to organise fundraising events on behalf of Father Hudsons Caritas.
4. Develop strong relationships with Clergy through direct and targeted contact.
5. Seek opportunities to introduce our Caritas Lead to parishes with the aim of developing local Social Action.
Other Key Responsibilities
1. Be aware of FHC Safeguarding Policy, especially in schools and parish visits and following the FHC adult and children safeguarding policies
2. To assist with the planning and on the day management of our Good Shepherd Masses.
3. Be aware of any new opportunities to develop FHC fundraising.
4. Provide support with any fundraising events organised by the department.
5. Participate in team meetings and development days and support newer members of the team by sharing skills and expertise.
6. Build good relationships with other departments and projects within the charity.
7. Comply with statutory regulations such as Data Protection, Father Hudson's policies and procedures, the Fundraising Regulator's Code and Health and Safety legislation.
8. Follow Father Hudson's administrative and financial systems
9. Any other duties relevant to the responsibilities of the post as defined by the Head of Department
The Database
1. Use the existing database (Donorflex) to record, report and develop our fundraising activity.
2. Maintain accurate and confidential database information.
3. Analyse data and produce reports and statistics as required.
